Choosing the Right Reel

Wednesday, May 24th, 2006

Some people might look at all the different Miya Epoch Reels on our site www.swingcast.com and may get a little confusing when trying to choose the right reel for them. There are so many different reels to choose from, with different features, power, speed, size, and options. If you’re one of those people, first of all, I appreciate you for doing further research by reading this Blog that I’m about to write and I hope this helps.

The concept is just like buying a car, if you go for an economic, small, compact car, it may cost you less and have better mileage but you will probabaly get less horse power. If you go for a large SUV or something with more horse power, it will get you less mileage per gallon and probably cost you more. Whatever you choose, it will most likely get you to the destination you want. It’s a matter of how luxury or economical you choose to be, what features you want and how much horse power, and of course style (for that, check out the CommandX-10 and the CommandX-20, the limited edition which comes 18 Karat Gold Plated). But since our product here is going to cost much less than getting a car, you don’t have to stress! It even comes with a 14-day money-back return policy (see restrictions on our site), so relax!

Now, here are the basics, if you’re looking for a portable electric reel to enjoy for yourself whenever and wherever, look at the CommandX series since they are operated by a 12 volt battery (which you can get at most major hardware stores) and come with a handle. The US series are 24 volt and come with no handle (optional) and are usually installed on boats as teaser reels. Another thing to keep in mind is that, all our reels have at least 13 features which is the standard, we call it the “Command System”. So now you’re really just looking a few basic things. How much hoisting power and winding speed and line capacity and if you would like the features in addition to the Command System with the different models.

With the Miya Epoch Electric Fishing Reels, you can get a smaller reel such as the CommandX-1 or the CommandX-4. It will cost you a lot less than some other reels, it will be smaller, lighter, easier to carry and it won’t use as much batter power as the bigger reels but it will have less hoisting power and winding speed (may be perfect for fresh water fishing). You can still go out to sea and catch fish and be able to bring it in, but it will definitely take more time depending on the fish size. On the other hand, you can go with a more powerful, larger size reel such as the CommandX-9SP or the CommandX-15SP and of course, have more hoisting power and greater winding speed. Another things is that the variable speed control for these reels have 40 different levels instead of 7, and it also has an additional feature, the Automatic Drag System. It will definitely be heavier and cost you more but you will see the difference and have a blast seeing it crank in the catch of the day!

Now, if you are like most people and just want to best all around reel to take out to sea that has more than enough hoisting power, winding speed, line capacity, and as much features possible, but yet not too big or heavy, at a very reasonable price, I recommend the CommandX-6Z. It’s a newer model reel with the newly designed motor for more power. It has the full Command System which are the 13 amazing features, including the Depth Memory to recall your last drop (the bait will sink down to the same spot every time to the set memory until you reprogram it to a new depth memory). And if you think you’re a little more than the average fisherman, then I suggest going one step up to the CommandX-8Z which will catch fish to a depth of 1,200 feet, and the winding speed can vary from 190 to 340 rpm.

If you’re still confused about what reel to those, then you can email or call me and I will do my best to recommend the reel right for you. Otherwise, during this month of May, the CommandX-6Z is on sale, over $150 off which brings it down below $900. Don’t miss this opportunity, happy fishing!
